West Midlands
The West Midlands region is well known as a centre of the production industries. However, business services also contribute to economic growth in the region. There is a flourishing creative sector (design and architecture in particular) and the west of the region is a hotspot for music and festivals. Birmingham is the UK’s second-largest city and the beating heart of the region. The West Midlands is landlocked and therefore has no ports.
